Pokémon binder layout ideas: plan a 9-pocket page

Pick the cards first. A good page gives each card a deliberate place and leaves enough room for the artwork around it.

Six real compositions selected for the Michi guide. Look at the cards, the connected artwork and the spaces between them before choosing your own layout.

Follow the evolution

The evolution moves from the centre towards the lower right, while horizontal and vertical panels carry the same scene around it. The artwork makes the three stages read as one story.

Let the colour connect the cards

The five blue cards occupy the top row and the lower left. A horizontal panel and a vertical panel join the remaining spaces: the colour theme comes from the cards themselves.

Frame one favourite

A single Clefairy sits inside a ring of artwork. The eight-pocket shape leaves the centre open instead of covering the card with another image.

Collect one Pokémon across sets

Five Jirachi cards share the page with a wide panel and a tall panel. Different card frames stay readable because the artwork occupies its own connected spaces.

Give an illustrator a signature

Seven Tomokazu Komiya cards do most of the work. One double insert at the bottom gives the page a focal point without reducing it to a single colour.

Build around a trainer

N’s cards sit between two wide panels and one tall panel. The artwork connects the trainer to the team, while each card keeps its own pocket.

An illustration does not have to be a rectangle

Try a connected shape, then let the cards occupy the pockets it leaves. Switch the shape to see the balance change.

A vertical strip turns across the bottom row. Keep the four remaining pockets for cards.

Plan across a binder spread

An open binder shows two pages together. Decide whether the left and right pages form one scene or two related compositions. Leave visual space near the spine, and check the reading direction after turning the page. Never assume a flat digital preview reproduces a physical seam exactly.
